Kanye West once mentioned that he may not be the best in anything, but he is always top 3 in everything. His latest top 3 is courtesty of MTV’s Braintrust naming him the #3 Hottest MC in the Game for this year’s list. Kanye started 2011 high off the buzz of “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” and dominated hip-hop and fashion circles especially on twitter as the year progressed following it with the “Watch the Throne” collaboration album with Jay-Z. Despite a grammy performance that made hip-hop nation cringe and a super pop record, Nicki Minaj was named the #4 Hottest MC in the Game by MTV’s Braintrust. To get there a very heated debate followed her naming as the #5 Hottest MC to leapfrog over the emcee that originally broke her into the game, Lil Wayne. The argument was that this year both Drake and Nicki Minaj helped Wayne be hot more than Wayne helped them. What’s your thoughts on Nicki Minaj? Last night on a special night of hip-hop on MTV2 the MTV Brain Trust revealed their top 5 Hottest MC’s in the Game. Leading off is Lil Wayne who rebounded from another jail stint to hit the ground running hard. Tha Carter IV is on the verge of going two times platnium being the most sold album of 2011, but it underwhelmed in critical acclaim. In fact they argued that the Young Money head almost piggybacked on the stars he helped make in Drake and Nicki Minaj. One of them, Nicki Minaj, was voted to pass him as the original #5 to #4.
